Our Ministries

Children

Children

Nursery - There are three fully equipped rooms where we provide care. The nursery is a ministry for children from infants to 4 years old. We believe and follow the principle from Matthew 19:14; Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for "of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Our nursery workers usually speak both English and German and have experience in different cultures and backgrounds. We welcome all!

The nursery is available from 11:15 - 12:15 during Sunday school and from 12:15 - 14:00 during worship service. Of course, they are also welcome to join you in the sanctuary where we offer a children's sermon each Sunday.

Children's Church - Children first through the fourth grades attend children's church during the regular Sunday worship time.

During Sunday School (11.15 to 12.15) there are classes for children and youth of all ages.

Youth

Youth

We offer a full and active youth ministry.

  • We always try to have fun, but what we we are really about is learning about and getting to know Jesus Christ.
  • We sponsor frequent day trips, European tours and even over-night "lock-ins" at the church.
  • We study the Bible, not as literature, but as the Word of God.
  • We look at the people in the Bible, not as characters, but as people just like us with feelings, desires and problems not unlike our own.
  • We know that Jesus knows how we feel.

Our annual mission trip is a big event that opens the eyes of our youth to the work of God in other cultures and with other peoples.

The youth are fully responsible for all aspects of this trip including fund-raising. Upon their return, the youth share their personal experiences and testimonies with the congregation.

Young Adults

The Young Adults' Ministry is made up of dynamic individuals of varied ages, personalities, occupations, genders and goals.

Young Adults' at Immanuel have many opportunities for spiritual growth and encouragement. There are many areas where singles can exercise their special gifts and talents.

Men

Men

This ministry has one purpose: to develop within men a passion for God. We accomplish this through prayer and study of God's Word. Our focus is on developing Christ-centered relationship sustained through accountability to God and then to each other.

Through such a commitment men are challenged to persevere in their relationships with God, family, church and friends.

Women

Women

The women's ministry at IBC seeks to challenge and equip women to reach their full potential in Christ. We provide a variety of opportunities to grow in relationship with God through His word, fellowship with other women, learning new crafts, and even enjoying an occasional night out.

To accomplish this, a variety of activities and study programs are offered:

  • Weekly Bible study on Thursday evenings and during Sunday School
  • Spring Retreat sponsored by the International Baptist Convention
  • Prayer Chain & special prayer events
  • Mission information and support of missionaries
  • Lunches, brunches, and dinners out together
Music

Music

We are very excited about our music ministry. We love to give opportunity for those who enjoy singing or playing instruments to be able to share their God-given talents with others, whether in solos, small ensembles, or choirs.

Prayer

Prayer

This ministry involves all church members praying for our church, our families and our nations. This is accomplished through:

  • Prayer groups at church and in homes
  • The Prayer Chain Ministry, a monthly mission emphasis on an un-reached people group using a Home Prayer Guide
  • weekly Missions Focus item in the church bulletin.
  • Twice a year we emphasize a Week of Prayer especially for our church family.
  • In November there is a Prayer Breakfast to celebrate the Baptist Women's World Day of Prayer.
  • We also seek to provide missions education through posters and prayer guides explaining ways to pray for other religions.
