Sunday was fantastic! Our youth and young adults did such a great job of leading us in worship. A special thanks goes out to Alex Voyer for taking on the challenge of bringing the message. It is not easy to get up in front of everyone and share what God has laid on your heart. Great job, Alex and thank you EVERYONE who was involved (including youth and young adult leaders for helping coordinate everything). You truly blessed us!
Two weeks ago I mentioned that I believe God has some very special things in store and in the coming weeks you will have the opportunity to get involved!
First, the Chagall Exhibit is going on RIGHT NOW! This is an amazing exhibit and because it centers around the Exodus, it is the perfect opportunity to reach out to art loving friends and acquaintances and bring them with you to a tour. Janet Yachoua and Susan Howard are coordinating those tours, so get in touch with them should you be interested. Please pray with us that God would use this exhibit for His glory!
Of course, so much of the conversation in our communities has been about the influx of refugees. We will work hard to keep you informed of opportunities to be engaged, but we DO know that language skills (especially German) are very important to their integration in our community. How interesting is it that we ALREADY had Second Language Ministry Training on our calendar for October 9-10. Kathleen Yarbrough who has used these methods effectively in Houston will be our leader for this training. This training will equip you to teach either English as a Second Language or German as a Second language. To download the information sheet and sign up, please click HERE. There is a lot going on! Let me encourage you to find a place where YOU can make a difference!
