As things continue to develop in the Ukraine, we know many would like to help. We are monitoring the situation and it may be that there will soon be a need for families to host refugees for the short term. For now, if you wish to help those impacted by the war in Ukraine, there are a couple of ways of doing so. First, you can assist through our partnership with Christian Refugee Relief (CRR) in The Netherlands. They are making deliveries directly to the camps along the Ukrainian border.
On March 27th, Phillip and Monika Vandergrift will gather all donations following the worship service. The things which are needed are medical supplies (#1 need), diapers and hygiene items. What is NOT needed is clothing. Please do not bring any clothing to donate at this point. If you plan on donating items listed above, PLEASE do so as follows:
- Under NO circumstances should donations be brought inside the building. Doing so adds a step to the collection process and may result in your donation not being taken. Leave them in your vehicle until after the service. There is also no place for these items to be stored in advance of collection day. Please do not bring them to the church before the 27th!
- After the service on March 27th, Phillip will meet anyone with a donation in the church parking lot. Once loaded, donations will be delivered to CCR in The Netherlands.
- Please note that Phillip and Monika are exploring the option of renting a storage facility so that donations may be gathered on an ongoing basis. If you would be interested in helping either financially or in the organizational side, please contact Phillip.
If you would prefer, monetary donations to CRR may be given. CRR has contracts with a number of vendors which means they are able to buy in bulk at greatly reduced prices. If you would like to donate in this way, you may make your donation to the church, but be sure to note that your gift is designated for CRR. Donations will then be transferred directly to CRR.
If you wish to join with others in prayer for the situation in the Ukraine, you may do so in two ways. The first is by joining our weekly prayer call on Thursday evenings at 19:00. The link for that gathering is http://ibc.tinyc.co/PrayerCall
You can also join in EBF Prayer Gatherings every Wednesday during the month of March at 19:00. The link for those gatherings is http://ibc.tinyc.co/UkrainePrayer
If you wish to donate through the EBF, that is also a great option! Monetary donations will help to purchase food, hygiene items, medicine, generators, gasoline, blankets, pillows, and necessary items for the internally displaced people (IDPs) and the shelters set up for them. Send donations to:
