Nick and Susan Howard are native Texans, who are returning to Germany after having lived in Essen from 1992-1999 (both speak fluent German, as well as English). They have spent the last 15 years in Houston, where Nick worked with Baptist Student Ministry (a ministry to university students) and Susan has been a middle school choir teacher. They have one son, Chris, who remains in Houston. Chris is in his 20s and in addition to coaching and hoping to build a business as a personal trainer is a well-traveled rugby player, having spent the summer of 2014 in New Zealand, playing for a team in Wellington.
Nick and Susan both earned degrees in Music from Baylor University in Waco in 1982 and then Nick went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas (1986) and a Doctorate in Ministry from George Fox Evangelical Seminary in Portland, Oregon in 2006.
